Getting Involved

The Great Miami River is a wonderful natural resource, but it takes the commitment of the community to keep it pristine and beautiful. Many organizations are actively involved in various river cleanup programs, conservation efforts, wildlife and water quality studies, and an entire range of volunteer efforts are available.

If you would like to get involved in conservation efforts on the Great Miami River, please contact any of these fine organizations which we support.

GMR Riversports "Tire Tag" Program

GMR Riversports works heavily with local environment groups and various government and private agencies to keep the river a cleaner and more prosperous environment for wildlife of all types. However, it's the private efforts of citizens that really make the largest impact and we support the idea of our guests taking the time to keep the river clean. Which is why we have created the GMR Riversports "Tire Tag" program. We have "tire tags" available at the livery, and the way the program works is if you are out on the water and you see a tire in the river, or on the bank, then go and get it and attach the tag to the tire. Upon your return to the livery, bring your tagged tire to us and we will store it for later removal by a waste management company, to be properly recycled. You can also help in our efforts by voluntarily donating $1.50, the cost for the removal and recycling of one tire. We can all keep the Great Miami River clean and healthy, one tire at a time.
