River Rules

We ask our guests to use common sense and good manners while on the river.

ALWAYS wear a PFD (Personal Floatation Device or "Lifejacket")

Wear an old pair of sneakers, shoes that tie or are strapped to your feet, water shoes,  NO FLIP FLOPS PLEASE, you will only lose them.

NEVER canoe or kayak while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Never stand inside the boat.

Avoid rapid shifts in body weight, as this can unbalance you and cause a possible tip-over.

Always maintain three points of contact when moving around inside the boat.

Some of the property along the river is privately owned. Please respect the property rights of the landowners.

Place all trash in a litter bag and keep in the canoe until the end of the trip.

No Children under 5 years of age in canoes, no children under 8 in tubes, no children under 12 in kayaks .

All equipment must be returned on time, any equipment returned fifteen minutes or later past time due will be assessed a $10.00 late fee for every fifteen minutes.  Please keep in mind if you fail to return in a reasonable amount of time, we will contact the authorities and begin a search.  This is for YOUR safety.

You are responsible for your boat and equipment.  Do not leave unattended or abandon, misuse or abuse in anyway.  You will be charged any replacement or repair costs.

What to Bring

Appropriate dry clothing for the weather.

Dry change of clothes.

Sneakers or river shoes.

Bathing suit and towel.

Water, sports drinks, soda,  snacks, picnic items

Sunscreen, insect repellent and chap stick.

Cameras and binoculars.
